If you’ve already planned a trip to
Singapore this summer, you may want to squeeze in your itinerary a quick trip
to the ArtScience Museum located in Marina Bay Sands. Don’t worry, it won’t take a whole day like
Universal Studios. Tip: try to go there on a weekday so that your kids won’t
have to wait in long lines and can do activities without hassle. We checked out
a permanent exhibition called Future World: Where Art Meets Science. It showcases high-tech interactive artworks
built in collaboration with teamLab, a renowned Japanese interdisplinary art collective. Future World lets you have an
interactive discovery in Nature, Town, Park and
Space. I won’t give you a whole tour of the place, just those that we enjoyed the
most from the stations.
Nature
Invites us to reflect on our relationship with our environment. I love how this instantly calmed us down because when in SG, you always have to be on the go. So this was like our down time and rest from all the walking we did the whole day.
Black Waves
Town
This station encourages kids and kids at heart to bring out their creativity amidst the challenges in urban spaces. Activities include sketching and interacting with projected artworks on the walls and floor.
Sketch Town
Media Block Chair
Park
Go back to basics with nature and enjoy the imaginary breathtaking views in this station.
Universe of Water Particles
Sketch Aquarium
Story of the Time When Gods Were Everywhere
Light Ball Orchestra
Space
End your journey in the astronomical space. This has got to be my favorite station which is composed of more than 170,000 LED lights, giving the illusion of stars moving in space which also moves along with the beat of the music.
Take note of
the admission times: 10am, 11.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm, 4pm and 5.30pm (last entry) to
ensure that the whole family could interact with the art works.
