About
The Blog
Momtroopers is all about the
intersection of teaching and motherhood. I’m Katrina and I play the role of
Mama to my two kids and Teacher Kat to my students. Just like you, I am also
going through the many challenges of being a Mama- the never-ending Frozen
marathons, the struggle to resist their cuteness or to be patient every time
they say “no!” and the need for the extra energy boost for playtime while
maintaining a home. Which is why I like to surround myself with curious,
compassionate and humble Mamas out there who also serve as my reminder that You’re already doing better than you think
you are, Trooper Mama.
And
that is why you drop by Momtroopers. It was built to share creative and
practical tips that are highly
effective to teaching and parenting.
It is a tool to reach out (and
rant) to other moms who are also in the first few years of motherhood. This
blog aims to connect with moms who are looking for trusted resources- from
beauty, home, to parenting and even kids’ schooling. It’s a place where moms
significantly learn practical ways to manage family life, choosing the more
practical options, without sacrificing quality. Let Momtroopers help you in building a home filled with hope and
creative ideas.
Katrina is considered an expert in
Early Childhood Education. She is the founder of Drills-Practice and Progress, a community tutorial center located
in Quezon City. She also created Nylon Kids-an arts and crafts activity provider for children’s parties. She is a regular contributor to Smart Parenting and lifestyle editor of Taste Company. Endlessly curious, she continues to find fun and entertaining
activities that homeschoolers like her would love to try out in their own home.
Currently, she is homeschooling her toddler daughter and is still busily
breastfeeding her son. While it can be a little tough at times, she manages to
give time to her writing job, do some daily exercise after her second CS
operation, and sneak in some me-time or date time with her partner,
@speedtroopers.
