I'm
gulity of not being able to prepare well every month but I make sure to think
of something fun. It could be anything that a certain month celebrates such as
New Year, Valentine's or just a cute theme from Pinterest will do.
Be resourceful
I
know Pinterest ideas are just too intimidating! But you can always try before
giving up, right? For some themes I only used materials that I already have at home such as colored papers, existing toys as props and number mats to represent the month. I also
used this clean white cloth as the backdrop or our white wall (when he started to move around).
Ask for help
I'm
the creative director slash photographer of this mini editorial shoot so I was definitely in need of extra hands! Luckily, I have a whole barangay to help out-our two
ates, my husband (if he's around) and of course, Ameelia. It's so nice to get
everyone involved in this project.
Prepare for changes
You
have pegs for the shoot but baby doesn't want to cooperate. So what now? The
first five months we're easy to shoot since Aloncito basically just lied down and stared on the camera with minimal movement. On his sixth month, he started
to get cranky and would roll over because maybe he was irritated or uncomfy. If
this happens to you, chill. Don't expect baby to lie
down for your flatlay. Take a break if you must. If baby gets cranky, it will
be a lot harder to get that perfect shot. Create a relaxed vibe, play some children's songs or ask someone to play with your little one. That way, he'll be in the mood and be more comfortable to strike a pose and give you that killer smile!
sometimes he’s game other time’s he is just not game to smile for Mama!
Don't give up
You'd
probably think right now that you can just opt for a baby studio and let them
do all the dirty work. For working Mommas, you won't have enought time to come
up with anything cause it will just eat up your time and energy. You can always
start thinking of a theme (after all we have 30 days in a month), prepare props
early on and assign someone to decorate or help out with the set-up. Remember,
this is a project you'd like to share with your baby when he grows a little
older.
