MOM ME-TIME WITH BELO

I don’t go to derma clinics. Fortunately, I never experienced acne breakouts during puberty and I believe that skin starts to become sensitive when you start to kalikot your face and put skincare products (especially if it’s not matched to your skin type). But I told myself that i need some pampering, not only for my face but for the whole body. I thought of Belo right away because I want to invest on something that is tried and tested by many. I had the chance to try their latest summer offering for lightening and smoothening the skin. So excited to have my first Belo experience!
Let me tell you, I don’t have the guts to wear shorts and sleeveless tops during and after pregnancy. I had a severe allergic reaction that was caused by hormonal imbalance, which left dark spots all over my legs. And like what my mom used to tell me, if it’s a boy, your underarms will really darken. True! It took a while for me to accept these flaws and just appreciate the growing human being inside of me. I was also hesitant to avail their services since I am still breastfeeding. Most derma clinics would advise to skip treatments altogether because it might be risky for both you and the baby. But I was told that it is indeed safe. So yes yes to Belo!
I was greeted by their resident doctor, Dra. Givenchy Ang (how posh is her name??). She asked me about my concerns and checked up the dark spots all over my body. I was asked to wait while they prepare the room for my treatments.
My first treatment was the Wet and Dry Dermabrasion. The aesthetician started with the “dry” treatment using a small vacuum to eliminate dead skin. She made sure to go through every part of my body including the bikini area and buttocks. Then she started with the “wet” treatment where she still used a machine to evenly apply serum. It was cold but I feel so refreshed afterwards. We waited for around 10 minutes for the serum to be fully absorbed by my body before she applied the bleaching cream. Note that this is a white cream that might stain on your clothes and body so better not have a meeting or date right after! Hehe. Also, it was a long session so you really have to allot some time, like half a day. After the treatment, Dra. Ang met with me again and analyzed my face and underarms for the Revlite treatment. Another aesthetician took my photo because they need it for my “before” and “after” portfolio. I think this is important especially if you want to see the progress in every session you’ll have with Belo.
The Revlite uses PhotoAcoustic action that breaks down pigmented lesions into smaller particles without damaging the surrounding tissue, causing lightening of target dark areas such as armpits and face. Yaaas something I need to get rid of these spots! It was painful like a rubber band ticking on your face. Dra. said it is because of the hair which the laser touches which causes the tingly sensation. The treatment for both my face and underarms lasted for around 20 minutes.
Before and After

Notice that there are red bumps afterwards like mosquito bites. After two days, I had more all over the face but none in my underarms. It’s like an allergic reaction but that’s just normal and will fade after three days.
Will I do this again? definitely yes. Feels like my pores are a lot tighter now and I don’t have to put a lot of BB cream to hide dark spots. This is a plus for moms on the go so you can start skipping long makeup routine in the morning. So don’t be intimidated if you think that treatments are just for local celebrities you see on billboards. I heard that there basic facial is reasonably priced so why not spend a morning with Belo? You deserve it, Mom!
